In Phantom Abyss, you compete with other players around the world to steal an idol from a temple filled with tough jumps, booby traps, and hidden keys.

At one point, I was being chased down a narrow corridor by a flaming head Guardian who was trying to eat me. After falling through the cracks right by the doorway, I restarted at the other end of the corridor. Unfortunately, this meant that the Guardian lay between me and the next checkpoint.

Use their successes and failures to your advantage to progress deeper than they ever could have hoped. Blessings from the Gods As adventurers venture further into a temple, offerings of collected treasures can be made at altars to gain a new blessing for the rest of the run. Collect as much treasure as you can to please the gods and gain a double jump, glide jump, extended slide, damage protection, and more! Each whips carries a minor blessing but also a curse that may complicate your attempt at riches and glory. Despite the faults, From the Abyss is a solid dungeon crawler. It does what it does well for the genre, and it is very easy to pick up and play. In the long run however, it's not going to be memorable game.

If I get the Obsidian whip, and I encounter one of those guys that run at mach 3 speed, I just quit, as they blaze ahead of everyone and take the loot.

Since it grapples almost instantaneously, it increases the window of time you have to grapple a platform while falling fast, which is how I've gotten the most use out of it. You can drop through tall rooms with abandon and more safely snag a platform to break your fall.

Essentially, don't expect to find a revamped or a completely new Phantom Abyss experience with this 1.0 update, because that isn't what this is. Instead, what you'll find is simply an upgrade and slight improvement to various aspects and parts of the entire framework that constitutes what Team WIBY created in the first place.

This is a title devoted only to dungeon brawling, with hours and hours of killing and lots of levels to explore.

Players can share Temple Codes for their failed runs allowing friends to attempt the same temple or share their Adventure Code which yields a playlist of temples that a player has attempted in the past. System Requirements

This ultimately leaves Phantom Abyss feeling like a treasure chest that’s only partially filled – it has Phantom Abyss Gameplay its share of gems that shine brightly yet leaves enough space to make you wonder about the treasures that could have been.
